Search Console has the data. Badass does something with it.
Same data, straight from Google. Badass adds the analysis Search Console leaves to spreadsheets, starting with the whole dataset instead of the first thousand rows.
Queries and pages one row at a time
Segments that group them by rules on query and URL
One average position for the whole date range
Daily positions for the keywords you choose to track
No sign that two of your pages rank for the same query
Every query where more than one of your URLs shows up
Period comparisons you set up by hand, one at a time
Pages growing and decaying, measured against their own history
Think in topics, not keywords.
Group thousands of queries and URLs into segments with simple rules. Each segment gets its own clicks, impressions, CTR and position for any date range, so you can see how a whole topic or section of the site performs.
- Rules on query and page: contains, starts with, regex or a pasted list
- Numbers match Search Console with the same filter applied
- Use any segment as a filter across the app
/blog/or/guides/stride|stridDaily positions for the keywords that matter.
Pick the keywords you care about and follow their position day by day, instead of one average for the whole period. Positions come straight from Search Console, so they reflect real searches, not a single check from a data center.
- Day-by-day grid, colored by top 3, top 10 and top 20
- Tag keywords and filter by tag
- See which of your URLs ranked for a keyword and when

See when your pages compete for the same query.
Badass finds every query where more than one of your URLs appears in Google, and shows how clicks and impressions split between them. You also see whether Google rotates the URLs or shows them together.
- Share of clicks and impressions for each URL
- Rotating vs. shown together, from the data itself
- Position history for every URL in the conflict
- /c/trail-running-shoesPrimary71%pos 4.2

Know what's growing and what's fading.
Content decay compares each page with its own peak from the last 16 months, so a one-off spike doesn't count as the baseline. Growth shows pages gaining clicks and pages that only started to appear in search.

Everything else you'd build in a spreadsheet.
Low-hanging fruit
Queries on page 2 and queries with a CTR below your site's own CTR curve, with the clicks a better position could bring.
Visibility
Clicks, impressions, CTR and position on one chart, each on its own scale, plus how many keywords sit in the top 3, 10 and 20.
Google updates on your charts
Core, spam and other ranking updates marked on the timeline, so you can check a drop against a rollout at a glance.

Data loads live from Search Console. No tracking code, nothing to install.
Read-only access. Badass asks Google only for permission to read Search Console data. Search data is fetched live and cached for a few hours; we store your projects, segments and tracked keywords, not a copy of your Search Console.
Questions, answered.
Is it really free?
Yes. Connect your Search Console properties and use every module without paying. No card required.
How is this different from Search Console?
The data is the same, the analysis isn't. Search Console shows rows of queries and pages. Badass groups them into segments, tracks daily positions, finds pages competing for the same query and spots pages that grow or decay.
Why can I see more than 1,000 rows?
The Search Console interface and its export stop at 1,000 rows. Badass pages through the Search Console API and loads up to 250,000 rows per table, so sorting, filtering and CSV export work on the full set.
Where does the data come from?
Only from the Search Console API, for the properties you connect. With the same filters, the numbers match what Search Console shows. History goes back 16 months, the same as in Search Console.
Is rank tracking based on scraping Google?
No. Positions come from Search Console, which records where your site actually appeared for real searches. That also means a keyword shows a position only on days it had impressions.
Can Badass change anything in my Search Console?
No. Badass asks for read-only access to Search Console. It can't edit settings, submit sitemaps or remove URLs.
